Every year, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show brings out the glittering wings, extravagant lingerie, and an army of supermodels strutting down the runway. Somewhere between the towering heels and the million-dollar outfits, one familiar question inevitably resurfaces: what do models eat to look like that?
The curiosity is understandable and that exact curiosity has fueled hundreds of YouTube videos all trying to deep-dive into the daily habits of a VS model. The Victoria’s Secret model diet has been a hot topic for decades, with everything from green smoothies and protein-packed breakfasts to rather extreme pre-show restrictions making headlines.
Yet the real eating habits of Victoria’s Secret Angels are far more varied than the internet might have you believe.
The 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, held in Los Angeles on October 18, also provided a fresh look at how models approach food and fitness. Several familiar Angels returned to the runway, while their backstage preparations revealed some interesting differences in their routines.
We went through interviews, food diaries, and recent runway coverage to find out what the Victoria’s Secret diet actually looks like, which habits are worth borrowing, and where the glamorous world of runway dieting becomes a little less glamorous.
What Is the Victoria’s Secret Model Diet?
The Victoria’s Secret model diet is a popular name for eating habits associated with current and former Victoria’s Secret runway models. There’s no one official meal plan, though. Over the years, models have described everything from structured, protein-focused eating routines to more flexible approaches that accommodate their favorite meals.
The typical Victoria Secret model diet emphasizes vegetables, fruit, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. Certain versions of the diet also encourage limiting refined carbohydrates, added sugar, alcohol, and processed foods. All of this is perfectly normal and involve habits that all of us should follow anyways, model or not.
More restrictive interpretations introduce calorie limits, fasting, or temporary changes before shows, but heavier restrictions tend to happen around the last 48 hours before shows, which is also understandable considering these amazing women have to strut their stuff at front of tens of millions of viewers.
What Do Models Eat? Real Victoria’s Secret Model Diet Examples
Before examining each model’s habits, here’s a comparison of actual foods they’ve discussed in earlier times.
We researched Victoria’s Secret models and compiled some of their mentioned food choices below:
| Model | Food choice examples | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Imaan Hammam | Smoothies, chicken, kale salad | 2026 |
| Barbara Palvin | Oatmeal, granola, chicken, fish, vegetables, burgers | 2019; updated 2026 comments |
| Jasmine Tookes | Smoothies, grilled chicken, rice, vegetables, steak, pasta, tacos | 2022 |
| Adriana Lima | Omelets, oatmeal, grilled meats, vegetables, rice, beans, chocolate cake | 2013 |
| Bella Hadid | Eggs, sausage, bagel sandwiches | 2017 |
| Romee Strijd | Oatmeal, grain bowls, vegetables, sushi, pasta, ice cream | 2018 |
| Josephine Skriver | Eggs, vegetables, brown rice, sweet potatoes, fruit, nuts | 2017–2018 |
| Stella Maxwell | Eggs, avocado, oatmeal, yogurt, salmon, chicken, salads | 2017 |
Just one quick glance at this data shows a few cool things: some models enjoy elaborate breakfasts, others prefer smoothies, and several have spoken openly about eating carbohydrates regularly, so no – you don’t have to skip carbs. Even among women who share the same runway, there are clear differences in how they approach nutrition, yet we can see some obvious patterns, like preferring eggs and oatmeal.
1. Jasmine Tookes: Chicken, Rice, Pasta, and Plenty of Balance
Jasmine Tookes might be one of the best examples of how different the actual Victoria’s Secret diet can look from its online reputation. In an August 2022 interview with Us Weekly, Tookes described her typical meals and fitness habits in considerable detail.
Breakfast often involves a smoothie. For lunch, she enjoys grilled chicken with rice and vegetables, while dinner can include steak, pasta, or tacos. She also explained that she generally works out three to four times per week, combining Pilates with weight training.
Rice is a particularly interesting part of her routine. Back in 2018, Tookes and fellow model Josephine Skriver discussed their love of carbohydrates in a video highlighted by Harper’s Bazaar. Both women named rice as a favorite, with Tookes even joking that she sometimes eats it three times a day.
2. Adriana Lima: A Longtime Angel Who Eats Rice, Beans, and Chocolate Cake
Adriana Lima is one of the most recognizable faces in Victoria’s Secret history, having walked the runway for more than 20 times. The Brazilian supermodel returned for the 2026 fashion show, making waves for her iconic presence.
Her earlier interviews give us a useful glimpse into what she has eaten during her modeling career. In a 2013 interview with ABC News, Lima explained that breakfast often included an omelet or oatmeal. Lunch and dinner featured grilled meats, grilled vegetables, rice, and beans.
Brazilian-inspired meals make sense given her background, and the combination offers an interesting nutritional balance. Beans supply fiber and plant protein, rice provides carbohydrates, and grilled meat contributes protein and essential minerals. Lima also admitted enjoying pancakes, chocolate, and coconut cake, though.
Perhaps one of Lima’s biggest highlights (and perhaps secrets to her amazing physique) is her fitness routine, which honestly makes us half-envious, half-impressed, and slightly scared. She’s known for incredibly demanding workouts, so this intense physical training should naturally go hand in hand with strong nutrition base.
3. Bella Hadid: Egg Sandwiches and a Love for Bagels
Bella Hadid has never seemed particularly interested in pretending that every meal involves kale and green juice. During a 2017 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she described enjoying eggs and sausage for breakfast when she had a morning off. Her favorite alternative was an egg sandwich on a plain bagel from a shop near her apartment.
Hadid also explained that her workdays could become extremely busy and that she needed to eat regularly.
We definitely wouldn’t say no to a nice bagel sandwich, but naturally, the nutritional value depends on the ingredients and portion sizes. Still, Bella’s love for bagels is something we could see as a sensible part of a Victoria’s Secret angel diet.
4. Romee Strijd: Oatmeal, Grain Bowls, and Restaurant Dinners
Romee Strijd has shared several glimpses into her eating habits through interviews and videos. In a 2018 interview with ELLE Australia, the Dutch model explained that she loved eating oatmeal for breakfast.
Lunch often involved a grain bowl with salad and vegetables, particularly as she was experimenting with reducing her meat consumption.
Evenings were more flexible. Strijd enjoyed visiting restaurants with friends or her partner, and she openly mentioned loving sushi, burgers, pasta, and desserts. Ice cream with chocolate or caramel was among her favorite treats.
Strijd’s food choices also illustrate how personal preferences influence eating habits. She was interested in consuming less meat, while other models have described eating steak and chicken frequently. Neither approach defines the entire Victoria’s Secret model diet and just goes to show you that there’s always room for the foods you enjoy.
5. Josephine Skriver: Carbohydrates Are Still Invited to the Party
Josephine Skriver has consistently spoken about eating enough to support her workouts. In a Byrdie interview, she described eating plenty of protein and vegetables alongside carbohydrate sources such as brown rice and sweet potatoes. She has also discussed enjoying eggs, spinach, fruit, carrots, nuts, and nut bars.
Skriver’s enthusiasm for rice became particularly clear in the 2018 video she filmed with Jasmine Tookes. The two models spoke openly about their favorite carbohydrate-rich foods and how important they considered carbohydrates for exercise.
Skriver has also described a flexible approach to eating, leaving room for foods she enjoys and again, she’s the prime example of a model who doesn’t follow a restrictive diet.
6. Stella Maxwell: Eggs, Oatmeal, Salmon, and Yogurt
Stella Maxwell’s published food diary contains plenty of familiar, nutrient-rich meals. In a Byrdie interview originally published in 2017, Maxwell described enjoying scrambled eggs, avocado, oatmeal, granola, and yogurt for breakfast. Lunch might include salmon with salad or chicken and vegetables.
Dinner generally featured another protein source alongside vegetables, while nuts and dried peas were among her favorite snacks.
Maxwell also expressed skepticism about eliminating entire food groups or following overly restrictive eating plans. Her earlier interviews demonstrate why it’s difficult to reduce the Victoria’s Secret diet to one rigid set of rules. It’s as simple as this: there’s no specific VS model diet.
What Does a Typical Victoria’s Secret Model Eat in a Day?
After we looked through the interviews, several foods appear repeatedly: eggs, oatmeal, rice, chicken, fish, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, and avocado.
The models’ descriptions also feature plenty of foods associated with everyday enjoyment, including pasta, bread, burgers, and dessert, but realistically we can assume that most VS models follow the good old 80:20 rule – eating 80% of the time healthy, whole foods and allowing some “fun foods” in their diet for 20% of the time.
Based on what different Victoria’s Secret models have mentioned regarding their food choices, we put together a sample meal plan that includes some of the staple foods they’ve repeatedly brought up:
| Breakfast | Oatmeal with Greek yogurt, berries, and peanut butter |
| Lunch | Grilled chicken, rice, and a generous portion of vegetables |
| Afternoon snack | Fruit with nuts or yogurt |
| Dinner | Salmon, roasted potatoes, and a mixed salad |
| Dessert | A favorite sweet treat, according to appetite and preference |
The meals provide a combination of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and fiber.
Oatmeal and fruit contribute fiber, chicken and salmon supply protein, and rice and potatoes provide carbohydrates for everyday activity. Adding healthy fats through nuts, olive oil, or avocado add a little ‘oomph’ to the meal and of course, contribute with their health perks, too.
Is the Victoria’s Secret Model Diet Actually Healthy?
If a model’s diet is somewhere along the lines of the sample meal plan we showed above, then we can say it’s a genuinely strong nutritional base that provides your body with plenty of nutrients.
But problems arise when calorie restriction becomes severe, food groups are unnecessarily eliminated, or exercise demands increase without adequate fueling. The fashion industry’s history makes those concerns particularly relevant.
What Happened to Former Victoria’s Secret Model Bridget Malcolm?
Former Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm has spoken publicly about the consequences of restrictive dieting during her modeling career.
In a powerful 2018 personal account published by Harper’s Bazaar, Malcolm described periods of consuming mostly steamed vegetables and protein shakes while struggling with an eating disorder and anxiety. She reported feeling exhausted, experiencing hair loss, and becoming increasingly isolated because of her rigid eating habits.
The physical consequences of prolonged underfueling are well documented in sports nutrition research, too.
The International Olympic Committee’s 2023 consensus statement on Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport describes how prolonged or severe low energy availability can affect hormonal function, bone health, immunity, metabolic processes, and physical performance.
Models and athletes have different professional demands, but the underlying biological need applies to both.
A healthy diet must provide enough energy to support normal bodily functions, daily activity, and recovery. Looking lean in photographs never tells you the story behind those models and a seemingly thin body won’t indicate if that girl is actually healthy.
Which Victoria’s Secret Diet Habits Are Actually Worth Following?
Many Victoria’s Secret models follow a wonderfully balanced diet that definitely deserves attention, and not because of their physical appearance. These girls are showing the whole world where balanced nutrition can get you – without any restriction needed.
Eat Protein-Rich Foods Regularly
Chicken, fish, eggs, yogurt, and other protein sources appear throughout model food diaries.
Protein contributes to muscle maintenance and repair, especially when combined with strength training.
A varied diet can provide adequate protein through both animal and plant sources, including legumes, tofu, nuts, and whole grains.
Include Plenty of Vegetables and Fruit
Vegetables are another recurring feature of Victoria’s Secret model diets.
Jasmine Tookes frequently mentions vegetables alongside rice and protein, while several other models enjoy salads, vegetable bowls, and smoothies.
Vegetables and fruit contribute fiber, vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds associated with long-term health. Most people are almost critically underconsuming fresh vegetables and fruit, so this is one Victoria’s Secret model habit that’s definitely worth adopting.
Keep Carbohydrates in the Picture
No, you don’t have to be scared of carbs. Rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and pasta appear in multiple interviews we analyzed.
Carbohydrates help supply energy for everyday activity and exercise, while many carbohydrate-rich foods also provide valuable fiber and micronutrients. Whole grains, potatoes, fruit, and legumes are particularly useful choices.
Make Room for Foods You Enjoy
One of the more entertaining discoveries from these interviews is how frequently models mention their favorite treats.
Romee Strijd loves ice cream and restaurant dinners. Bella Hadid has discussed her favorite bagel sandwiches. Adriana Lima enjoys chocolate and coconut cake. Enjoyable foods can fit into an overall nutritious eating pattern.
A slice of pizza doesn’t need to be treated like a crime scene, and enjoying dessert doesn’t mean someone has abandoned healthy eating. That’s exactly what VS models teach us.
What’s the Real Secret Behind the Victoria’s Secret Model Diet?
After reviewing the interviews, the biggest surprise is how little agreement exists about what constitutes a typical Victoria’s Secret model diet.
Jasmine Tookes enjoys rice and pasta. Romee Strijd loves oatmeal and restaurant dinners. Bella Hadid has described breakfast sandwiches, while Adriana Lima has talked about eating rice, beans, and chocolate cake.
The 2026 fashion show added fresh examples, including Imaan Hammam’s pre-runway meals and Barbara Palvin’s focus on nutrition during postpartum recovery.
Every model has her own preferences, professional demands, and health circumstances, and that’s exactly how things work outside of the modelling industry, too.
What matters the most, is consistency. A balanced diet, adequate energy, enjoyable exercise, and proper recovery are all valuable goals, with or without a pair of glittering Angel wings.
